The central government has given infrastructure status to logistics sector. Logistics has a long gestation period, now the sector will have better access to bank credit and loans at a concessional rate, making the sector more competitive says Shivkumar Rao, Director of R&Y Logistics.

This will see private sector investment rising, make industry competitive globally. Immediate savings will be in electricity cost as warehouses currently pay commercial rates & in stamp duty he feels.
