Bamboo cultivation to get a boost

To give a boost to bamboo cultivation, the goverment has through an ordinance omitted bamboo grown in non-forest areas from the defination of trees, allowing it’s felling and transportation without requirement of permits.
However, bamboo grown in forest shall continue to be governed by forest conservation act, 1980.
