Farmers in Maharashtra can sell in virtual private markets
10-Jul-2016 :
Maharashtra Govt has made a provision for e-marketing of fruits & vegetables and given freedom to farmers to sell in virtual & private markets which are alternatives to APMCs.
This has come as per directives of Central Government’s National Agriculture Mission. Thirty APMCs will become part of the proposed National Agricultural Market (NAM) and do e-trading and get access to national market.
Maharashtra State Govt has approved Retail Trade Policy. Retailers will be exempt from APMC regulations which will enable farmers to sell produce directly to retailers bypassing APMCs.
Farmers & APMCs can take part in the Central Government’s e-Mandi project wherein people can buy & farmers can sell online.
