Retail trade policy will make Maharashtra a favoured destination

Maharashtra State Govt has approved Retail Trade Policy. Retailers will be exempt from APMC regulations which will enable farmers to sell produce directly to retailers.

There will be relaxation from provisions of stocking under Essential Commodities Act. There will be exemption to retailers from maintaining physical records for salary/ attendance and they can opt for self certification and filing of consolidated annual-returns under laws of labour department.

To increase viability of retail centers, the government proposes to provide additional 50% FSI on payment of premium for development of retail & shopping centers and proposes to mark areas for Retail Parks and Retail Entertainment Zones in master plan of cities.
