Years back, when a close family member was diagnosed with Cancer. We went to one of the best known oncologists in the country. He advised Colostomy.
Then we went to Tata Hospital, to the department specialized in stomach cancers. The HOD said there is a new technique called stapler and one can lead a normal life. And, yes she has been leading a perfectly normal life since.
So the lesson was even a specialist may not know everything and we can save ourselves a lot of trouble by taking more opinions.
At times when there is a complicated issue, I take opinion from several experts in the field.
